Our Favorite Colorado Destinations to See Fall Colors

The Grand Mesa & Western Slope – If you don’t mind a little bit of a drive, the western slope and the areas around Grand Junction are some of the absolute best places in Colorado to see spectacular fall colors. Not only will you be seeing everything that this area of Colorado has to offer, including the dynamic mountain Grand Mesa, but you’ll also appreciate having a 4x4 vehicle to get around the Rocky Mountains in. While you’re in the area, check out everything that Grand Junction has to offer during your excursion.

Kebler Pass – Although this is another longer distance drive, seeing Kebler Pass in Autumn is a breathtaking experience. When you go out to Gunnison to visit this incredibly scenic area of Colorado, make sure to take some time to explore the town of Gunnison as well. If you are a fan of aspen trees, you’ll appreciate all the aspens that are found across the Kepler Pass.

Rocky Mountain National Park – While this may seem like an obvious suggestion, there is no denying how beautiful the Rocky Mountain National Park gets during the fall. With all the trees and leaves changing colors and the natural wildlife cohabitating with the changing landscape, this is a great experience for everyone in the family to go visit. When you are driving a 4x4 vehicle through the park, you will be more confidently able to traverse some of the more uneven road conditions.
